McLean is looking to hire an experienced Project Manager to join our team in the Chesapeake, VA region. The ideal candidate will have experience managing $20M+ heavy civil projects at PM level.



Project Managers will work in tandem with Project Superintendents, Engineers and the Construction Manager to ensure projects are successfully completed safely, on time and on budget. They collaborate with field supervisors on a daily basis. They act as the Company’s primary point of contact when communicating, negotiating or trouble-shooting contractual, commercial or technical issues with the Owner. Project Managers work closely with the Construction Manager to coordinate and develop the careers of field supervisors on their projects. They write and approve purchase orders and subcontracts, develop the budget and regularly update cost and revenue projections for their projects. Project Managers actively participate in means and methods, safety planning, project scheduling and budgeting in the construction and pre-construction phases. They have extensive knowledge and experience in the marine/heavy/civil construction industry.


Education and/or Experience

Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering Technology and 5 years of related experience. A combination of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Experience in heavy civil and marine construction and cost estimating is highly valued.

Other Skills and Abilities

Must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation to work and able to pass a physical. Must be able to pass a Homeland Security background check to qualify for a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).
