Position Overview:

The Production Manager will be responsible for managing daily operations within a department, driving initiatives to meet objectives in safety, quality, productivity, cost, and team-building. This role requires coordination across shifts and implementing continuous improvement plans to foster a culture of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to and enforce all site safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure standardized work processes are in place and maintain adherence to quality standards.
  • Develop and improve processes to ensure the production of high-quality products.
  • Create weekly production schedules and ensure production goals are met.
  • Manage staffing levels and requirements, and oversee preventative maintenance of all equipment.
  • Identify and implement cost-effective solutions to address problems.
  • Resolve employee performance issues and handle disciplinary matters, including attendance and policy violations.
  • Develop employees for future positions and conduct performance reviews of direct reports.
  • Implement safety countermeasures and conduct root cause analysis to improve plant safety.
  • Propose equipment needs for capital projects and participate in project implementations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4-10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong language skills for reading and understanding safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Mathematical proficiency for adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Problem-solving ability to handle issues involving several concrete variables.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing software
