What You’ll Do As a Senior Estimator, you will:

  • Command the Estimating Process: Lead every phase, from analyzing bid documents to finalizing proposals, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and competitiveness.
  • Develop Comprehensive Cost Estimates: Analyze construction documents and scope of work to prepare detailed estimates for materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Partner with project managers, operations teams, and stakeholders to ensure seamless transitions from estimates to execution.
  • Engage with Clients: Attend pre-bid meetings, visit job sites, and gather critical project information to build accurate and competitive bids.
  • Refine and Maintain Tools: Update and optimize cost-estimating tools, databases, and methodologies to improve precision and consistency.
  • Represent Excellence: Serve as a key liaison, demonstrating professionalism and expertise that aligns with the company’s reputation for quality.


What You Bring:

  • Experience: 10+ years of construction estimating experience, specifically in heavy civil projects such as municipal work, underground utilities, paving, earthwork, concrete, and large subcontractor packages.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent work experience.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in estimating software such as HCSS Heavy Bid, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar tools.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to deliver precise cost breakdowns and articulate the reasoning behind estimates.
  • Communication and Leadership: Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel, attend site visits, and work extended hours as required.
