About the Role - Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Scheduling: Optimize daily schedules for on-time deliveries, considering fleet, driver, warehouse, store, and labor needs.
- Efficiency Champion: Drive productivity and cost-effectiveness by making informed decisions that align with our operational goals.
- Driver Development: Coach and mentor drivers, fostering a safe, high-performance culture.
- Collaborative Problem-Solving: Partner with internal and external sources, addressing requests and challenges with exceptional customer service.
- Lead Innovatively: Make strategic, resource-efficient decisions. Inspire your team to excel.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze performance data and identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Emergency Response: Adapt quickly to unexpected situations, such as weather events or traffic disruptions, to ensure deliveries remain on track.
- Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and company policies, maintaining accurate records and documentation.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred: While a degree is a plus, relevant experience in transportation or logistics is highly valued.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with DOT and Federal Motor Carrier Regulations is essential.
- Decision-Making Expertise: Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and making quick, informed decisions.
- Local Expertise: Strongly comprehension of the MD/DC/VA geographic map.
- Team Player: Excel at building relationships, collaborating with dispatchers, and providing top-notch customer service.
- Tech Savvy: Comfortable with Windows, Lotus Notes, Excel, and Word.
- Flexibility: Embrace a rotating schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays, supporting our 24/7 operation.
- Strong Communication Skills: Effectively convey information verbally and in writing, interacting with diverse individuals across the organization.
- Problem-Solving Aptitude: Analyze complex situations and develop creative solutions to overcome challenges.
Pay range and compensation package - Competitive Salary: Starting salary between $68K-$76K annually, with a potential 10% bonus.
