The Buyer is involved in the purchase of all items procured in support of the plant’s operations. Supports the Purchasing Supervisor and other purchasing leadership with schedule maintenance, report generation and interpretation as well as efforts to meet company goals for cost, schedule adherence and inventory.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • MRO Buyer (Plant Supplies, Consumables, Repair Parts, etc. for all Departments within the Company)
  • Shop for the best price and delivery for purchases
  • Look for new and alternate Suppliers as needed
  • Schedule Repairs and Services
  • Verify appropriate approvals are in place for orders prior to order placement
  • Issue Purchase Orders and maintain Purchase Orders and Vendor Files
  • Responsible for collecting and Maintaining Certificate of Liability Insurance, and other Vendor/Contractor’s Agreements
  • Assist Purchasing Supervisor, and Sales Team quoting Raw Material
  • Assist in various other “Raw Material” functions such as:
  • Reviewing Supplier Backlog Reports, and Communicating with Suppliers regarding on-time delivery, Quality, etc.
  • Relaying Raw Material status/Raw Material issues to Internal Team Members
  • Assemble Data for the Releasable Report, and attend the Releasable Meeting
  • Enter Raw Material Purchase Orders
  • Raw Material reschedules initiated by Change Notices
  • Attend Meetings as needed to support Operations, Sales, Quality, and Continuous Improvement efforts


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Min 1 year of previous purchasing experience (entry-level)
  • Associates Degree or other post secondary education.
  • Ability to use Microsoft office applications and experience with MRP systems and processes
  • Strong understanding of basic math and some MRP system experience
