Salary: Up to $106,000 + 10% annual bonus


The ideal candidate will develop technical packaging solutions for clients, collaborate with cross-functional development teams, and work closely with strategic suppliers to design and enhance packaging systems in line with Customer Development Agreements and life-cycle management. The individual will bring strong analytical, engineering, and leadership skills to the Delivery Systems packaging team.



  • Lead the technical packaging workstream for life-cycle management activities across various engineering projects, ensuring the successful achievement of project goals through the implementation of innovative and improved packaging designs and processes.
  • Support packaging tasks related to Customer Development Agreements, including proposal estimations and task execution/assignment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Operations, Marketing, Regulatory, Quality, and Supply Chain, to develop effective packaging solutions.
  • Manage and maintain packaging components within the Design History File (DHF) for assigned projects, covering Clinical Packaging Development, Design Inputs, Risk Analysis (FMEAs), test protocols, and Design Verification.
  • Provide support to customers and suppliers for packaging-related activities, ensuring clear communication and strong working relationships with all external stakeholders.
  • Assess new technologies and support the acquisition, installation, and qualification of equipment to enhance and sustain internal packaging laboratory.
  • Regularly deliver progress reports and presentations to update management and core team members on activities and timelines.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives within the packaging group. Consistently adhere to West’s compliance and safety policies and procedures.


Qualifications:

Education or Equivalent Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.

Experience:

4+ years experience in packaging development, medical devices, or pharmaceuticals.

Proven experience in leading technical packaging workstreams from concept to commercialization.

Experience in test methods.

Experience bringing a product to market – start to finish.

Packaging documentation experience.

Design experience preferred.
