Job Summary: The Data Architect or Lead Data Engineer will be instrumental in developing the company's Data Lakehouse. This position is responsible for the design, architecture, development, and implementation of a comprehensive Data Lakehouse strategy including dimensional modeling at the enterprise level. The ideal candidate will lead the creation and governance of an advanced data integration framework, incorporating data modeling, dimensional modeling, and seamless integration of ETL/ELT processes across various platforms.

This role requires expertise in modern Data Lakehouse technologies, including AWS services like AWS Athena, AWS Redshift, AWS Glue, and AWS S3. The candidate should also have experience with Apache Spark and Apache Iceberg for building scalable, cloud-based data solutions. The focus will be on establishing a unified Data Lakehouse to support business intelligence, analytics, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong hands-on development background, substantial experience in data architecture and engineering, and a deep understanding of cloud-based data ecosystems to drive the company’s data initiatives forward.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement integration solutions using AWS technologies, including AWS Athena, AWS Redshift, AWS Glue, AWS Data Pipeline, AWS QuickSight, and Apache SuperSet.
  • Utilize database technologies on AWS.
  • Lead the data integration aspect of mission-critical projects, ensuring hands-on delivery and adherence to best practices.
  • Define and implement standard processes and procedures for managing data integration and data exchange models, with a focus on security, traceability, audit, performance, and risk.
  • Develop a skilled team of integration engineers responsible for data integration and data quality.
  • Define effective hybrid models for integration between legacy and cloud applications (including Salesforce, Jira, REST API) for all integration methods (ETL/ELT/Data hub).
  • Architect and design scalable data solutions, ensuring alignment with business and technology strategies.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of data lakes using cloud technologies such as S3, Spark, or Cassandra.
  • Provide data modeling expertise, designing logical models/data dictionaries from business requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, data quality, data security, and data management best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, or a related field required.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with data integration tools, data analytics, data governance, and master data management.
  • 5+ years of experience in API integration and code development using Python or Java.
  • 3+ years of experience in data architecture, including designing and implementing scalable data solutions.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing data architecture strategies that align with business and technology goals.
  • Expertise in architecting data lakes and data warehouses, with hands-on experience using cloud technologies such as S3, ADW, Spark, Hadoop, or Cassandra.
  • Proficiency in data modeling, including the design of logical models/data dictionaries based on business requirements.
  • Experience with all phases of the software development lifecycle and requirements gathering within various analytical and integration technologies and applications.
  • Prior experience in defining and building an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and modeling/implementing Master Data subject areas is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of data governance, data quality, data security, and data management best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in guiding technology teams through data architecture and integration projects.
