Compass Veterinary Neurology and Imaging (CVNI) is a privately-owned neurology, neurosurgery and imaging practice made up of a team of veterinary professionals located in Annapolis, Maryland. Equipped with advanced diagnostic imaging, CVNI is able to provide timely surgical or non-surgical intervention for even the most challenging neurology cases. This position is intended to not only support both Board Certified Neurologists but also the rest of the clinical team. 


Specific duties include but are not limited to the following:


  • Conduct advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) exams on veterinary imaging patients of CVRC Annapolis and outpatient referrals.
  • Perform post processing imaging as required for each study.
  • Submit imaging studies to radiologists in a complete and efficient manner.
  • Establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with radiologists.
  • Ensure attachment of imaging reports to a patient's electronic healthcare record.
  • Communicate regularly with contracted service providers/technicians as needed.
  • Submit service requests for imaging and anesthesia equipment.
  • Communicate any maintenance/repair issues of imaging equipment with the Director of Imaging.
  • Utilize standard concepts/practices and procedures for safe operation of radiologic equipment.
  • Collaborate with requesting veterinarian to confirm appropriateness of examination requested when required.
  • Aid Imaging Technicians in patient preparation including intravenous catheter placement, labwork, and radiographs.
  • Communicate effectively with all CVNI and CVRC team members
  • All other duties as assigned 


The Imaging Technologist works under the supervision of the Director of Imaging. Employees in this position are responsible for producing high quality advanced imaging studies for patients admitted to the imaging branch of Compass Veterinary Neurology and Imaging. The Imaging Technologist will demonstrate a professional approach in

his/her work, with emphasis on patient care, while still maintaining patient and staff safety. This is a full time position which includes four 10 hour shifts Monday- Thursday with participation in our on call rotation. Full time employees are eligible for company paid benefits after successful completion of their 90 day probationary period. This position is entitled to a 90 day review and yearly performance evaluations.
