  • This position is hybrid, with Tuesday-Thursday in office.
  • The office is located in Oakbrook Terrace, IL.
  • The standard work hours are 9AM-3PM, with flexible start and end times.


Overview

Our client is seeking a Mid-Level Construction Project Manager to oversee and manage various construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes, effective project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with a team of contractors, architects, and engineers. This role will require managing project timelines, budgets, resources, and ensuring quality standards are met.


Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Execution:
  • Coordinate project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and on-budget project delivery.
  • Prepare and manage project documentation, contracts, and change orders.
  • Team Management:
  • Oversee subcontractors, vendors, and construction teams, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Ensure all team members follow safety protocols and company policies.
  • Budget & Cost Control:
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, monitor expenses, and prepare cost reports.
  • Manage procurement and ordering of materials and equipment.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
  • Resolve project-related issues promptly and effectively.
  • Quality Control:
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest quality standards and meets all regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify the quality of construction and adherence to plans.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management, clients, and other stakeholders on project progress.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in construction project management or related roles.
  • Previous experience in direct management of estimates, budgets and forecasting project financials.
  • Contract negotiation experience.
  • Experience in pull planning scheduling process.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.


Preferred Skills & Experience

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification.
  • Experience in a specific type of construction, e.g., oil & gas, heavy industrial, transportation or infrastructure projects.
