Optomi, in partnership with a leading technology company within the packaging manufacturing industry, is seeking a SAP ABAP Technical Lead to fulfill a contract-to-hire opportunity with a client based in Atlanta, GA. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SAP ABAP Technical Lead to lead our client’s SAP ABAP development team.


In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of SAP ABAP Developers, overseeing the development and maintenance of SAP solutions, and ensuring the successful execution of SAP projects. You will be a key contributor to our client’s SAP initiatives and will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality SAP solutions that align with our business objectives.

  • Proven experience in SAP ABAP development with a deep understanding of SAP technologies and modules
  • Previous experience managing a team of SAP ABAP Developers
  • Strong knowledge of SAP best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Project management experience is a plus
  • SAP certification is a strong advantage


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and lead a team of SAP Developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment
  • Designing comprehensive SAP solutions that integrate S/4HANA with other systems using BTP, CPI, and APIM, ensuring that the architecture meets both current and future business needs. Creating and maintaining a roadmap for SAP landscape evolution, including the transition to S/4HANA and the adoption of cloud services.
  • Developing and implementing integration strategies using SAP CPI to connect S/4HANA with various SAP and non-SAP applications, ensuring seamless data flow and process integration. Designing and managing APIs using SAP APIM to facilitate secure and efficient communication between different systems and applications.
  • Leveraging SAP BTP to build, extend, and enhance applications, processes, and innovation capabilities in the SAP ecosystem, ensuring they are fully integrated with the core S/4HANA system.
  • Manage SAP ABAP projects, including planning, resource allocation, and project execution. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Leverage your strong technical background in SAP ABAP development to provide guidance, support, and expertise to the development team
  • Implement and enforce coding standards, best practices, and quality control measures to maintain the integrity and reliability of SAP solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including SAP functional consultants, business analysts, and stakeholders, to gather requirements and ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions
  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks in SAP applications, optimizing code and processes for improved system efficiency
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of SAP ABAP solutions, including technical specifications, design documents, and change logs
  • Ensure compliance with SAP best practices and standards, as well as adherence to security and data protection policies
