Job Purpose

The Maintenance - Facilities Technician is an entry level position and will be responsible for learning and performing routine building maintenance tasks. Performance of building maintenance tasks in one or more of the following fields; electrical; mechanical; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); plumbing, etc. Perform general cleaning. Perform other tasks as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

Primary duties and responsibilities include:

The ability to learn and perform the following tasks:

  • Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues
  • Piping system installation and repair
  • HVAC systems maintenance and repair – Monthly Inspection and replacement of air filters
  • Boiler and steam applications knowledge
  • Boiler Checks – daily
  • Maintenance of - Industrial Power; Rectifiers – 3 Phase Motors – Screw Compressors / Air Dryers – Electric Vehicles – Overhead Crane – Electric & Gas Ovens
  • Electrical – Establishing new circuits from the Electrical Panel - fused disconnects - reading electrical drawings.
  • Fabrication – Basic knowledge of Mills, Lathes, Welding, Sawing
  • Preventative Maintenance – weekly and monthly checklists

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • 3+ years Maintenance – Facilities related experience in the Manufacturing or Aerospace Industry
  • Working knowledge of Maintenance, troubleshooting and repair
  • Computer proficiency (MS Word and Excel), ability to input, retrieve and compile data/records
  • Proficient with precision equipment – Hand tools, micrometers, calipers and gages
  • Effective communicator; strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effectively apply appropriate problem-solving and continuous improvement techniques

Key Accountabilities

  • Ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to communicate and work with others in a courteous and professional manner
  • Must be organized and practice good housekeeping daily
