Position Overview: One of Insight Global's top clients is looking for a Project Electrical Engineer to join their team in Chattanooga, TN This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in handling large industrial machines and equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting customer specifications and performing various calculations, including voltage drop calculations. They will also create Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), design control panels, and engage in extensive design and project management tasks.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate customer specifications into detailed technical plans.
  • Perform electrical calculations and create P&ID for project requirements.
  • Design control panels and systems for large industrial machinery.
  • Manage projects from conception through to completion.
  • Collaborate with customers, providing exceptional service and communication.
  • Oversee part and service technicians, including occasional travel to customer sites.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with NFPA standards and P&ID.
  • Familiarity with Class 1 Div 2 environments (explosive atmospheres).
  • Knowledge of 3-phase control systems and previous control panel experience.
  • Proficiency with PLC, VFD, and soft starters.
  • Strong project management skills, including effective communication, humility, and a positive attitude.
