Job Description:

Trilliant is seeking a Software Engineering Manager who will be reporting to the Global Vice-President of software development. The Development Manager will be responsible for the complete development lifecycle of our product software roadmap. He will be managing a Java software team that is located in two locations: in Cary, North Carolina, and in Granby, Québec.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the company’s product roadmap strategy to drive innovation and product development in the field of smart grid, smart city, and IIOT.
  • Lead and coached a talented team of Java developers and engineers to drive excellence and innovation in R&D activities.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, global support, and customer operations to ensure alignment of R&D initiatives with business objectives and market needs.
  • Oversee the design, development, and testing of new head-end system software platform to meet market and customer-specific needs.
  • Work with the program management office to build and track release plans within schedule and budget.
  • Drive continuous improvement and optimization of R&D processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency, quality, and speed to market.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on the progress, milestones, and outcomes of R&D initiatives.


Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing software development teams.
  • 8 plus years of experience with Java Development.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with the development of scalable Java software platforms and applications.
  • Strong technical expertise in building scalable and robust back-end systems.
  • Experience with the entire Software Development Life Cycle including key performance indicators.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and lead teams through change and uncertainty.
  • Experience in Agile methodology and scrum-based teams.
  • Solid knowledge of DevOps technologies and continuous integration and continuous delivery.
  • Fluent with the Atlassian suite, Jenkins, NEXUS, Sonarqube, and security of software applications.
  • Prior experience in metering and telecoms are excellent assets.


Education/Certification

University degree in Software Engineering or Computer Sciences.
