Thoracic Surgeon

Saint Joseph’s Health is seeking a dedicated Board certified/eligible in Thoracic Surgery to join our team and serve a culturally and clinically diverse patient population. Located ~10 miles from New York City, our facilities are in a vibrant region known for its highly rated K-12 school systems, numerous colleges and universities, and many family-friendly and cultural activities.

We are looking for a full-time Thoracic Surgeon to provide comprehensive care to adult patients. This role includes opportunities for research and teaching, with multiple practice locations including Paterson, Wayne, Saddle Brook and Totowa.

Duties:

• Triage and care for Thoracic surgery patients.
• Comfortable supporting cardiac procedures.
• Manage the pre-operative, operative, and post-operative care of patients.
• Participate in medical education of residents, medical students, nursing and ancillary services on cardiothoracic surgery quality standard practices and procedures.
• Interact with surgical and consulting physicians, outside departments, nursing and ancillary personnel to improve patient care.
• Provide on call and/or clinic coverage as requested by the Division Chief.
• Maintain necessary and appropriate documentation for all services provided in compliance with regulatory and hospital policies.
• Participate in scholarly activity and research.
• Perform administrative duties as directed by the Chairman of the Department of Surgery.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chairman of the Department of Surgery.
