Role Description

We are expanding our law firm and seeking an aggressive go-to person for an full-time, on-site Associate position in downtown Chicago, IL, This attorney will be responsible for attending court calls in the Chicago Metropolitan area, preparing and presenting clients for depositions, drafting complaints, writing legal briefs, working with paralegals in responding to written discovery matters and reviewing demand packages. It will also entail negotiating settlements, and representing clients in depositions and court proceedings, including Mediations, Arbitration Hearings and Trial. We have a 401(k) Plan with Company matching and contribute towards health insurance premiums for our company sponsored health insurance plan. We also have a bonus plan in place based upon productivity in settling cases.


Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Law, with a focus on Personal Injury Law
  • Excellent legal research and negotiation skills
  • Experience in providing legal advice to clients
  • Team player
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated jury trial experience
  • Licensed to practice in Federal Court
  • Three to Five years experience in representing clients in personal injury cases
  • Effective problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois
  • Willingness to travel to collar counties as needed
  • Computer literate with Word, Excel and MS Office
  • Ability to work with Case Management software including FileVine
