A client of Insight Global is looking for a Cloud Architect to join their team. This position is responsible for defining, implementing, and supporting the technical architecture for MS Azure and Office 365 environments for the client, in partnership with the Chief Architect and other technical leaders. The overall goal is to increase, scalability, reliability and performance of the cloud services in scope to provide a best-in class Information Service experience to both internal and external stakeholders. The organization has a strong focus on managing through automation, site reliability and continuous improvement methodologies. During the 1st two years, this person will focus on supporting the definition of the Azure and O365 target architecture, understanding the current state, and leading the migration design of our current capabilities to the cloud., making sure we have proper standards in place, continuous monitoring, and are highly focused on our modernization journey. They will be on-call in partnership with the cloud services team to address any critical production issues Other responsibilities include the following :
- Architect and design solutions that are scalable, highly available, automated, and meet all required security controls and best practices.
- Implement solutions using Infrastructure as as a service (Virtual Machines), Platform as a Service (Serverless Functions, Object Storage, and other Cloud Technologies).
- Manage Cloud Accounts, Organizations, and Tenants.
- Write Terraform, Ansible, Python, PowerShell, and like scripts.
- Design and implement automation tools and related infrastructure.
- Analyze current technology and develop roadmaps and backlog to improve the technology or replace as appropriate.
- Maintain applications and systems through recurring security patching adhering to the bank’s vulnerability management standards.
- Analyze and determine root cause for management of complex application or system issues.
- Collaborate with project management teams to support the estimation and progress monitoring of cloud services activities in support of the bank’s initiatives.
- Represent his/her area of responsibility as a core member of the Architecture Review Board
Position: Cloud Architect
Duration: Perm
Address: Newark, Ohio or Weston or Orlando Florida.– candidate will be on-site 3 days a week
Start Date: ASAP
Must Haves:
- Banking or Hospital Background ( Regulated industry – experience with audits)
- 8 years of Experience in a Linux and Windows Server Environment
- 5 years of Cloud Services – must be proficient in infrastructure as code and automation
- Office 365(Exchange Server, SharePoint, Teams), Active Director / MS Entra
- On Prem to Cloud Migration (Azure is mandatory)
- Cloud Security – understanding and optimizing operational costs and have expertise in overall cloud performance and reliability
- Experience in DevOps Methodologies / Knowledge of DevOps Tools and Technologies
- Proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, Python, Bash/Shell and related technologies
Pluses:
- Cloud Experience specifically with AWS
