Automotive Comptroller

Position: Comptroller/Controller

We are a leading franchise dealership known for our commitment to excellence in the automotive industry. We are currently seeking an experienced Comptroller/Controller to join our dynamic team and lead our accounting operations.

Job Description:

As the Comptroller/Controller, you will be responsible for managing the overall financial operations of our dealership. Your role will include overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and leading the accounting team to achieve financial accuracy and transparency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, report variances, and prepare financial statements.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Additional duties as necessary.
• Oversee the processing of financial transactions related to vehicle sales, including posting deals, managing tags and titles, and coordinating with sales and service departments.
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, report variances, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Prepare and submit end-of-month financial statements to the manufacturer, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Provide strategic financial insights to help drive the business’s financial strategy.
• Supervise and lead accounting staff, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring professional growth.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Comptroller or in a similar financial management role in automotive franchise dealerships.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proven experience in leading and managing accounting teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
