Outreach Specialist

About Us:

The California Farmworker Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of farmworkers through comprehensive support services, including food distributions, civil assistance, health, wellness and education. We are dedicated to enhancing the well-being of farmworkers and their families.

Position Summary:

The Outreach Specialist promotes services and resources to support Foundation programs. They will assist the County Coordinator in developing and maintaining positive working relationships with community leaders, organizations and stakeholders to facilitate outreach and awareness of the CFF services designed to improve the lives of farmworkers.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct outreach and mobilize farmworkers at community events, resource fairs, classes, and other engagements.
• Collaborate with staff to coordinate outreach efforts and events.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with farmworker leaders, agricultural stakeholders and partners.
• Assist in developing educational and promotional materials.
• Provide presentations at worksites and various community events.
• Summarize and report outreach efforts.
• Adhere to Foundation policies on safety and training.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Experience in delivering services to farmworker populations preferred.
• Computer software skills for word processing, spreadsheets, slideshow presentations, e-mail and internet search.
• Flexibility to adjust and work with different teams and programs.
• Capable of working in diverse settings from office to outdoors, in fields or warehouse environments.
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Ability to travel offsite for business reasons including occasional travel out of the area.
• Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record acceptable to the organization's insurance carrier is required.
• AA or Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Compensation:

Full-time, $18-$25/hour
