Job Description
We are currently seeking a PET/CT Hot Cell Support Engineering Technician 4 to join our team for a twelve-month contract position in Knoxville, TN. This position is responsible for performing all hot cell and prototype support activities that enable the development, test, and release of Molecular Imaging (MI) systems. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, work well in a team or independently, be self-organized, and possess an innate attention to detail.
Detailed responsibilities include:
• Installation and de-installation of PET Hybrid systems.
• Preventative maintenance and repair of PET, CT, MR and associated subsystems.
• Installation and rework of prototype subsystems following verbal or written guidance.
• Providing feedback to engineering for prototype improvements and assisting in engineering or system level testing as requested.
• Moving and relocating heavy equipment within the facility to and from hot cells.
• Limited use/exposure to low-level radioactive sources and material as needed to accomplish R&D activities.
• Both electromechanical and computer-based troubleshooting of integrated systems down to subsystem, module and/or component level.
• Tooling management, calibration control and onsite inventory management.
• Storage, retrieval, and inventory control of hot cell and R&D equipment from offsite storage
• Hot cell process improvements and infrastructure upgrades.
• System configuration tracking and documentation using Excel, Outlook, Word, TFS, SAP.
Requirements:
• Two Year Associates Degree in STEM related field preferred. Military experience and alternative education considered depending on field of expertise and experience background.
• Minimum of 5 years’ cumulative experience in the following industries: large-scale manufacturing, medical device installation, systems testing, product/app development, quality assurance, inventory control, machinist work, HVAC systems, power distribution systems, Security and advanced A/V systems, nuclear medicine technology, computed tomography, automotive repair, etc.
• Experience working around high voltage, moving parts and other industrial hazards.
• Strong computer, software and networking skills with Microsoft Windows based systems.
• Good, practical, working knowledge of electromechanical hardware.
• Practical knowledge, experience and proficiency in the use of hand tools.
• Experience with FDA Regulations, ISO 9001 Requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices, IEC Standards and/or any other quality-controlled design and manufacturing processes highly desirable.
