Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Application Technology, the Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for creation, preparation, and conduct of quality assurance reviews and the development and execution of test plans and scripts. Responsible for handling complex quality assurance and test environment problems and issues. Works closely with developers to establish and maintain a consistent test methodology and to resolve questions during the testing process. Analyzes, tests and certifies application-specific software and performs ambiguity reviews of business requirements and functional specification documents.

Responsible and Accountable for:

  • Performing testing tasks, including designing, developing and executing test plans, test cases and test scripts to validate that system functionality meets business and internal requirements
  • Interacts with developers and business analysts on resolution of application testing issues
  • Develops reusable tools and test automation for the department as a whole
  • Works closely with developers to define and execute unit and integration level tests
  • Ability to identify gaps and deficiencies in test plans, scripts, and cases and effectively extend test plans where necessary
  • Approving promotion of application changes to the end user for user acceptance
  • Providing technical support, training, and problem resolution to end users


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • End-to-end testing to ensure reliability and availability of software applications
  • Testing experience in Unit, System and User Acceptance environments
  • Requirements gathering, detail design development and the creation of test plans
  • Execution of functional, application, regression, and performance tests, including writing test cases, building test systems, and writing test scripts
  • Ability to manage multiple cross-platform projects simultaneously and coordinate with numerous development and project teams
  • Possess an excellent analytical, strategic and financial acumen
  • Possess a mix of integrative thinking, and technical skills
  • Familiarity with SQL
  • Knowledge of web application testing methodologies(e.g. browser compatibility)
  • Knowledge of internet protocols
  • Ability to understand and be aware of possible suspicious activities or transactions by members or by team members, directors, executives, or officers of the credit Union. Promptly notify management as required by credit union policy if unusual activity is observed which could be an indication of financial crime or efforts to evade reporting requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act or other laws and regulations.


Education, Experience and Certification:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a quality assurance position or equivalent
