Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Restaurant Manager at Laguna del Sol in Wilton, CA. The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring customer satisfaction, managing the hiring process, and maintaining effective communication with the staff. The role will involve managing food and beverage services and providing a high-quality dining experience for guests.

Responsibilities for the restaurant manager:

  •  Coordinate daily Front of the House and Back of the House restaurant operations and closings   
  •  Establish staff schedules, organize and supervise shifts
  •  Recruit, hire, train and rotate restaurant staff through various duties to ensure cross-coverage in all job areas
  • Ensures that all team members are trained on technical and service aspects of their position
  •  Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste
  • Create detailed reports on weekly, monthly and annual revenues and expenses
  •  Verify all timesheets for employees in the department are approved by Monday payroll week
  • Provide guidance and direction to all associates to ensure they are adhering to all policies, standards, procedures and regulations
  • Maintain extensive food and beverage knowledge, with ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff
  •  Schedule shifts, purchases and deliveries, inventory management, inspections, maintenance, cleaning, etc.
  • Communicate with the Department Heads in all areas to ensure smooth, efficient operations
  • Ensure the restaurant and snack bar/poolside grill run smoothly and efficiently
  • Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations and ensure security of the restaurant
  •  Order and/or purchase food and supplies while staying within budget and submit receipts to bookkeeping
  • Create and modify menus while maintaining safety and food quality standards
  • Supervise the preparation, display, and delivery of food and drinks
  • Make sure all computers and processors are running correctly and receipts are correct and communicating with the office. Make sure staff are closing out receipts accurately and taking appropriate tips
  • Conduct periodic internal reviews/audits to ensure that compliance and health and safety procedures are followed
