We are seeking a talented Electrical System Architect to join our team. As an Electrical System Architect, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the implementation of electrical systems for our products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our electrical systems meet performance, reliability, and cost targets while adhering to industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Able to evaluate the current system architecture, then make strategy for integration of individual components into the full engine.
  2. Provide strategy for high voltage vs low voltage safety in terms of layout.
  3. Advise high level diagrams/ schematics to give team clear direction.

System Design and Architecture:

  1. Develop electrical system architectures that meet product requirements and specifications.
  2. Define the system-level electrical components, interfaces, and interconnections.
  3. Conduct trade-off analysis to optimize system performance, cost, and reliability.

Requirements Analysis:

  1. Work closely with stakeholders to understand and define system requirements.
  2. Translate high-level requirements into detailed electrical specifications.
  3. Ensure that the electrical system design aligns with overall project goals and timelines.
  4. Component Selection and Integration:
  5. Evaluate and select electrical components, such as microcontrollers, sensors, actuators, and power supplies.
  6. Oversee the integration of components into the system architecture.
  7. Conduct compatibility testing and troubleshooting to resolve integration issues.

Safety and Compliance:

  1. Ensure that electrical systems comply with relevant safety standards and regulations.
  2. Identify potential safety hazards and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
  3. Collaborate with regulatory agencies to obtain certifications and approvals as needed.

Documentation and Reporting:

  1. Create detailed design documents, schematics, and technical specifications.
  2. Maintain accurate records of system configurations, changes, and test results.
  3. Prepare regular progress reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  2. 5~10 years of experience in electrical system design, architecture, and integration.
  3. Strong knowledge of analog and digital electronics, power distribution, and control systems.
  4. Proficiency in CAD software for schematic capture and PCB layout.
  5. Should have familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as CE, CSA, ISO, IEC, and UL.
  6. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  7. Effective communication and collaboration abilities, with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink) for electrical system analysis.
  2. Familiarity with embedded systems development and programming languages (e.g., C, C++).
  3. Knowledge of emerging technologies, such as Internet of Things (IoT) and electric vehicles (EVs).
  4. Certification in systems engineering or project management (e.g., INCOSE, PMP) is a plus.
