VintaBio is a technology company focused on simplifying AAV and lentivirus production. Our custom research and development approach is designed to integrate into services, including platform bridging, GLP toxicology material, and GMP manufacturing. Our research core produces high-yield and world-class POC vectors. Through a comprehensive production workflow that utilizes VintaBio's proprietary cell lines and transfection reagents, we expedite the path to the clinic, offer more reliable manufacturing, and improve economics.

Position Summary

The Supply Chain & Scientific Material Lead is responsible for managing the execution of materials planning, inventory management and Shipping/Receiving functions, with a focus to scientific materials. This individual will report to the Director of Supply Chain Operations.

Supply Chain

  • Support SCO Director for all Planning and Procurement for GMP and non-GMP Materials, with a focus on scientific materials.
  • To be responsible for the managing and ordering of all scientifically related supplies
  • Coordinate with SCO staff for receipt, inventory, and dispensing of supplies.
  • Work with Director of SCO to update and implement SOPs, policies, procedures, guidelines and any associated documents as needed
  • Review opportunities to improve operational and financial performance and to ensure minimal risk, operational disruption, and maximum customer satisfaction.
  • Support special projects and provide subject matter expertise.
  • Assist SCO Director in creating and implementing best practice for VintaBio in its current and future state vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
  • Evaluate the challenges faced by the organization and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities.
  • Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budget process.

Warehouse Management

  • Work with SCO staff on the receiving and processing of materials into VintaBio, and optimize inventory and space management.
  • Participate in identifying, and qualifying any off-site warehouse operations, including safety, quality, delivery, inventory management, and cost-effectiveness along with QA Compliance
  • Manage and execute accurate and efficient wall-to-wall physical cycle-counts.
  • Process Material Requests from Manufacturing
  • Maintain data integrity of Manual Inventory Processes and work with SCO Director on the selection of ERP system when appropriate.
  • Review manual and System PO (future state) data to interpret and analyze complex data and trends and develop recommendations and strategies based on same
  • Work with SCO Director to establish performance metrics, department plans and schedules to support Manufacturing Production.
  • Participate in internal/external audits


Budget Control

  • Managing forecasting, planning, ordering, inventory control, warehouse, distribution and replenishment plans for cell banks, starting & raw materials, intermediates, samples and components to support the Manufacturing Department.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Operations, Quality Assurance, Controller, Procurement, Supply Chain, Quality Control to meet the demands of VintaBio’s product pipeline.
  • Track Planning and Procurement Spend to provide metrics for yearly budgeting.
  • Oversee and optimize costs where available, attend Business Reviews for Key Vendors
  • Assist in budget and forecasts as well as ensuring compliance with customer and legal requirements.
  • Manage the budget from identification to completion of projects


Vendor Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively to ensure Supply Chain objectives are being met
  • Frequently engage with VintaBio’s key vendors to ensure optimal pricing and performance
  • Communicate any concerns and recommend solutions without compromising quality or service and aim for cost optimization
  • Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Supply Chain activities
  • Ensure performance of suppliers, logistics partners, transportation companies etc. and make improvements and cost savings where possible
  • Ensure on time, high quality delivery to all customers
  • Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the materials planning and logistics strategy
  • Maintain excellent relationships with customers and monitor performance and progress of deliveries to ensure customer satisfaction while optimizing costs

Safety & Compliance

  • Responsible for promoting a safety culture and awareness within areas of responsibility. Support and enforce the VintaBio’s EH&S policy and associated procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations/customs regulations including dangerous goods shipment and aviation security, and legal and health and safety requirements

Education and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and 10+ years' experience in supply chain, manufacturing, operations, Materials Science/Management/Planning or Program Management discipline
  • Previous experience with managing warehouse operations and planning within a life-sciences environment with expert knowledge and understanding of processes and components and of supply chain management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must have the following experience:
  • Knowledge of cell banks, raw materials, components distribution of goods and manufacturing processes
  • Import and export of biologics, bulk drug substances, drug product and associated samples
  • Shipping / warehouse operations including various DOT, IATA/ICAO, cold chain Transit regulations and temperature-controlled solutions.
  • Strong IT systems knowledge including knowledge and understanding of specialist systems. (Future State) Enterprise resource planning (ERP) modules. Advanced Excel user
  • Dealing with logistical partners and external vendors/contractors
  • Knowledge of Lean Sigma is a plus
  • Direct experience with import/export and international distribution licensing, depots, and multi-market warehouses a plus.
  • Excellent working knowledge of GXP compliance as well as USP, EP, ICH, FDA, EMA guidelines.


Work Environment

Work is performed primarily in the office. This is a hybrid position on site 3 – 5 days a week.
