Summary:


Seeking experienced IT Project Manager to manage a large financial Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) project from planning to implementation for the Maryland State Comptrollers Office. The Senior Project Manager will report to a Sr. Program Manager, and will work closely with the customer, contractors, and vendors to define business requirements, track deliverable status, monitor project schedules, and manage service provider and vendor contracts.


This role encompasses a full Enterprise Resource Planning system migration to include multiple data sets, modules, and tracks. This candidate will serve as a point of contact for the program, will effectively plan and execute project meetings with stakeholders across multiple agencies, as well as manage detailed project and risk management plans. Will consistently review and perform quality control on the project throughout development, validating changing business/functional/technical requirements.


This candidate must utilize leadership and organizational skills, be an effective communicator, and be comfortable managing stakeholder relationships across multiple agencies.


Location: Baltimore, MD

Structure: Onsite with occasional tele-work


Responsibilities:


  • Direct completion of project, serve as a point of contact for the program
  • Provide analysis and technical guidance to program and project teams
  • Ensure project alignment to organizational goals and objectives, closely monitoring all project lifecycle phases, resources, and budget
  • Oversee project impact and interdependencies between programs
  • Assist with needs analysis of relevant business areas, matching user needs to system capabilities, and ensuring solution is efficiently integrated
  • Assess project risks, potential organization/project implications, and establish contingency/mitigation plans
  • Manage work and inputs from multiple stakeholders, interfacing and communicating regularly to identify changing business requirements
  • Implement established policies, and controls ensuring successful management and reporting
  • Translate generalized customer business goals and objectives into concrete strategy and tactical plans
  • Monitor and communicate status, report on project status, issues, and budget during weekly/monthly status meetings
  • Integrate change management and transition activities, rollout schedules, and manage work activities to ensure schedule conformity
  • Manage schedules, integrate efforts between individual projects, and adjust targets dates, resources and deliverables as needs or financing changes


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, relevant field
  • At least eight (8) years of experience in supervision or oversight of IT-related programs or projects, minimum of 7 years of experience in managing enterprise wide Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) Service-Centric, Procurement/Finance application modernization implementation projects
  • At least five (5) years of hands-on experience managing process mining and process modeling tools to document current state environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and follow standard System Development Life Cycle Methodologies (SDLC)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Project, 365, and SharePoint
  • Experience with agile tools such as Jira or similar applications
  • Project Management Professional, (PMP) certification
  • Current PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), CSM, or equivalent certification
  • Strong communication skills
