Pediatric Occupational Therapist

A reputable family services organization dedicated to serving children and families with autism and other developmental disabilities is currently seeking Pediatric Occupational Therapists for their locations in the Bronx. You would be responsible for assessing students' motor skills and developing and implementing goals designed to enhance students' learning potential.
The base pay range for this position is $70,000 to $73,000 per year. The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based on geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of the offer.
Responsibilities:
- Form observations during preliminary screening of new students, and conduct ongoing evaluations of students enrolled in the school.
- Make suggestions for approaches and activities that might enhance student's abilities
- Take part in staff development and parent workshop opportunities around the development of gross motor, fine motor, and perceptual skills, and related underlying sensory and motor functions.
- Demonstrate approaches and activities to be implemented by educational staff
- Maintain mandated documentation of treatment and progress
- Give recommendations for IEP goals and participate as required in IEP conferences.
- Educate parents on findings and program aims, and recommend activities, physical positioning and/or adaptations that might facilitate increased independence in the home.
- Uphold appropriate connections with team and department members, parents, relevant staff, supervisors, administrators, and other agencies.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
- NYC Licensed Occupational Therapist
- Prior experience in pediatrics preferred
