  • 4-6 week contract opportunity (extension possible)


This Deskside Support Technician position will be working with a team to follow a script to apply necessary updates to individual workstations – including but not limited to software updates, correct drive mappings, etc.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/EXPECTATIONS:

  • Basic computer knowledge is expected but training will be provided, and all work will be supervised by the IT team onsite.
  • Strong customer service mindset and skills are required as the individual will be interfacing with client staff members via phone, email, and in person.
  • Patience, reliability, and motivation are important skills for the ideal candidate.
  • No driving is required but walking between buildings, lifting, and some physical labor may be required.
  • The dress code is business casual– polo, khakis, comfortable walking shoes. No graphic designs, logos, or inappropriate language. We are confirming if jeans are acceptable.
  • Soft skills are critical as contractors will be engaged with MSU faculty and technology team members. Some lifting and physical labor may be required.


JOB DUTIES:

  • Contractors will be touching approximately 2,000 end client devices and utilizing a provided checklist to perform updates, etc.
  • The contractor will take direction from the MSU leadership team on a daily schedule and checklist process.
