Summary

The Quality Inspector will provide the North American territory technical expertise and drive continuous improvement efforts across our global organization to enhance the quality and reliability of Ranpak automated machinery including corrugated material. This position will work with Automation, Materials, Warehousing, Manufacturing, Engineering, Production, and others to identify and address quality issues associated with automated machinery and their parts and corrugated material (when applicable).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Incoming inspection of parts for automated machinery and reporting of the results.
  • Align with our global quality and engineering teams to replicate and improve current processes around testing and evaluation for automation projects.
  • Evaluate corrugated samples from suppliers to determine effectiveness on automated machinery.
  • Work with Engineering, Automation and Quality resources to develop test plans and inspection procedures in alignment with customer project delivery of Ranpak automation solutions.
  • Create and update quality systems, procedures and forms and other pertinent quality documentation in alignment with our global processes.
  • Use statistical methods and other quality techniques to analyze problems and identify root cause.
  • Initiate corrective/preventive actions and provide guidance for completion.
  • Support quality functions such as internal auditing, testing, investigation of customer complaints and root cause analysis.
  • Assist Materials with qualification and monitoring of both domestic and foreign suppliers.
  • Participate in various cross-functional teams with all levels of employees.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Quality Engineer/Manager.


Qualifications

  • Two-year college or university degree is preferred
  • Practical experience in testing and evaluation of automated packaging machinery
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in Quality is required.
  • Must have comprehensive verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must have the ability to work within a matrixed organization while driving consensus and promoting process standardization.
  • Must be proficient in the use of computer applications such as MS Work, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Training and experience in DOE, FMEA, statistical, and other quality techniques is preferred.
  • SharePoint, ERP knowledge is a plus
  • Knowledge of ISO standards, CE and/or CSA requirements is a plus
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Must be able to work normal business hours (M-F) with occasional OT if necessary
