Job Description:

Pottstown Beacon of Hope (PBoH), a dynamic and community-driven nonprofit organization in homeless and social services, is seeking a passionate and skilled Developmental Director to lead and execute our fundraising and development initiatives.


The Developmental Director will play a vital role in securing the resources necessary to empower the Pottstown community through education, support, and various programs aimed at fostering growth and opportunity.


Responsibilities:

1. **Fundraising Strategy:** Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with PBoH's mission and goals. Identify funding opportunities, cultivate donor relationships, and explore diverse revenue streams.

2. **Donor Relations:** Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, foundations, and other potential funding sources. Create personalized engagement plans to steward and grow donor contributions.

3. **Grant Management:** Research, write, and submit grant proposals to secure funding from foundations and government agencies. Track grant application deadlines, manage reporting requirements, and ensure compliance with all grant-related obligations.

4. **Campaign Management:** Lead and execute fundraising campaigns, events, and appeals. Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling fundraising materials and communication strategies.

5. **Major Gifts and Planned Giving:** Identify, engage, and solicit major gift prospects. Develop and implement planned giving strategies to expand PBoH's donor base.

6. **Collaboration:** Work closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and other team members to align fundraising efforts with organizational priorities and ensure a cohesive approach.

7. **Database Management:** Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the organization's database. Analyze donor data to inform segmentation, targeting, and personalized communication strategies.

8. **Financial Oversight:** Monitor fundraising budgets, track revenue, and prepare regular fundraising performance reports for presentation to the leadership team and the Board of Directors.

9. **Networking:** Represent PBoH at community events, conferences, and meetings to build relationships and increase the organization's visibility within the local community and the nonprofit sector.


Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Master's degree a plus.

- Proven track record of successful fundraising and development experience in the nonprofit sector.

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain donor relationships.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Proficiency in using fundraising software and donor management systems.

- Strategic thinker with the ability to create and implement effective fundraising plans.

- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Knowledge of the Pottstown community and its unique challenges is a plus.

- Commitment to PBoH's mission and values.
