Dr. Schar USA is a gluten-free manufacturing company, located in Swedesboro, NJ that is looking to add a Manager, Nutrition Services to our team.


Stakeholder Management (40% Time):

  • Knowledge sharing with North American retail partners to add credibility to brand and category - prepare retailer updates and present where required.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop sales collateral, promotional materials, and sales training programs, ensuring alignment with brand messaging and marketing objectives.
  • Manage relationships with key external stakeholders, including retailers, distributors, non-profits and hospital affiliates and foodservice.

HCP & Research (30% Time):

  • Identify evidence-based strategies to promote awareness of gluten-free diets in therapeutic areas to drive sales growth.
  • Keep current with medical, nutritional, and scientific developments by continuously reviewing literature in the field, monitoring competitor activities (via conferences, trade shows, literature) networking with experts, presenting content, and attending and organizing dedicated conferences.
  • Create innovative continuing education programs, resources, tools, and/or opportunities to advance the role with HCPs and other stakeholders.
  • Develop high quality continuing education programs for healthcare professionals, including online webinars, presentations at medical conferences, and content generation and CMS for the Dr. Schär Institute website.
  • Participate in global Scientific Research Committee to assess clinical research proposals and develop studies that inform company strategy and product development as required.
  • Lead proactive identification of nutrition trends, policy implications and communication opportunities by working cross functionally with internal teams.
  • Manage HCP database and identify opportunities to drive growth via funnel growth, as well as develop customizable & role specific communications.
  • Support research study initiatives in therapeutic areas when applicable.
  • Share knowledge, clinical, and technical expertise with other team members while providing medical/nutritional training to all employees. Maintain database of clinical evidence to support marketing claims.
  • Develop North American (US and Canada) strategic projects along with Global as appropriate
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance for food products and in particular free-from food products.

Marketing (20% Time):

  • Oversee nutrition-related marketing and communication activities including developing marketing campaigns, creating content for marketing materials, and implementing strategies to effectively communicate product benefits to target audiences focused on HCP.
  • Support social media engagement efforts, including content creation, community management, and analytics tracking, to enhance brand awareness, drive engagement, and foster meaningful connections with healthcare professionals and consumers across various platforms.
  • Write educational content for various channels, including websites, newsletters, and marketing materials, synthesizing complex nutritional information into accessible and engaging formats to educate healthcare professionals and consumers about medical food products, celiac disease, gluten sensitivity, and irritable bowel syndrome.
  • Support new product development initiatives with Product Management team.
  • Serve as a point person for external PR communications relating to Dr. Schar as a company as needed.
  • Support innovation, new product development, and product reformulation projects from a nutrition perspective to align with corporate quality and nutrition standards.

Manager functions (10% Time):

  • Collaboration in the planning and Group-wide implementation of the team's strategic goals, annual targets, and annual budget.
  • Management of assigned Nutrition Services marketing budget.
  • Monitoring of target achievement, budgets, KPIs and reporting to the global Nutrition Services manager
  • Group-wide harmonization and further development of processes and instruments and ensuring continuous cost optimization.
  • Ensuring Group-wide knowledge transfer and management (information and documentation).

Qualifications:

  • Registered dietitian required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in nutrition services gastrointestinal nutrition, preferably in a healthcare or related industry.
  • Knowledge of consumer goods regulatory preferred.
  • International experience in nutrition services ideal but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interchange with different teams and cultures.
