Millwork Recruiting Source is leading the search for an innovative and hands-on Production Manager for a growing, privately-owned business specializing in luxury retail build-outs and high-end residential millwork. This is an exciting growth opportunity to join a dynamic team where you will be responsible for running a medium-sized custom shop and working closely with the owners.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Shop Leadership: Manage day-to-day operations on the shop floor, ensuring production schedules are met and ship dates are maintained.
  • Hands-On Expertise: Step in to assist with shop tasks when necessary, from problem-solving to hands-on support.
  • Collaboration: Communicate effectively with drafters and engineers who use Rhino for engineering and RhinoCAM for CNC operations.
  • Machinery Oversight: Manage the operation of 3, 3-axis CNC machines, and prepare for the acquisition of a 5-axis CNC machine in 2025.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to decisions on machinery, automation, and overall shop efficiency, with the ability to weigh in on upgrades and layout optimization.
  • Custom Millwork Production: Oversee 12 custom cabinet makers and a finishing lead with two assistants, ensuring the highest quality standards are met.
  • Adaptability: Embrace new technologies and be forward-thinking in adapting to shop needs, production methods, and emerging industry trends.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing a medium-sized custom retail fixture or architectural millwork shop.
  • Strong understanding of engineering, drafting, and the limitations of what can be built.
  • Familiarity with Innergy ERP is highly desirable.
  • Expertise in shop setup, layout, and production flow improvements.
  • Experience in or the ability to learn and influence CNC operations.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and manage a growing team.
  • A passion for technology and innovation in manufacturing processes.
