A leading developer in the global automation market, Pepperl+Fuchs is looking for a hardworking, ambitious individual to join our team as a Control Panel Design Engineer in our Katy, Texas Office.

The Control Panel Design Engineer will work on projects relating to the design and manufacturing of custom industrial control solutions.


You will be responsible for:

  • Designing control panels and systems, including HMIs, purge and pressurization, switchgear, motor control, junction boxes, and related automation systems, to meet customer specifications.
  • Managing various assigned projects and activities, including project schedules and delivery milestones.
  • Developing custom solutions from initial concept to final delivery.
  • Performing detailed design work, including identifying and specifying key elements of the solution, ensuring manufacturability, troubleshooting on the production floor, and conducting final testing and qualification to meet each project's unique requirements.
  • Controlling project documentation, including schematics, panel layouts, BOMs, and installation instructions.


The background you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in process control system design including CAD-related software. Preferred 5-7 years of experience in Control Panel Design for Panel shops.
  • Knowledge and experience in electrical standards, testing laboratories, and directives such as UL, ATEX/IECEx, and the NEC/CEC for both hazardous and non-hazardous area applications.
