Position Details

  • Primarily supports the Estate Planning & Probate group, with potential assignments across other practice areas.
  • Prior experience in estate planning and probate is a bonus but not required. We are willing to train the selected candidate with legal assistant experience in the particular practice area.
  • Tasks include working with Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and other related documents.
  • Coordinating calendars, scheduling appointments, answering multiple telephone lines, and corresponding with clients.
  • Drafting emails and letters to clients and outside contacts.
  • Learning to electronically file court documents is required.


Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to keep files current and organized, including opening new files, running conflict checks, and closing out old files.
  • Interacting with clients and professionals from other firms/businesses.
  • Proficient in spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of organization.
  • Positive, can-do attitude and excellent proofreading skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and sense of urgency.
  • Ability to function successfully in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Providing support to multiple people and tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Experience in scanning documents and editing PDFs.
  • Flexibility to work occasional overtime and weekends.
  • Ability to lift at least 10lbs and sit for extended periods.
  • Initiative to double-check work for accuracy, ask good questions, and be independently resourceful.
  • Multitasking efficiently throughout the day with high productivity.
  • Understanding and managing competing deadlines among team members.
  • Proficiency in Outlook email/calendar and MS Word; experience with Excel and PowerPoint is a bonus.
  • Accurate typing speed of 60-80 WPM.


Executive Assistant-Level Skills

  • Close collaboration with the firm's Managing Partner.
  • Skills in writing, coordination, planning, and scheduling with a focus on discretion and detail are highly desired.
  • Specific details and growth trajectory for the executive assistant role will be shared with candidates selected for interviews.
