Position Overview:

The Physical Therapist (PT) will evaluate, plan, and administer physical therapy treatments to patients with a variety of conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries, neurological disorders, and post-surgical rehabilitation needs. The PT will work closely with patients to develop personalized treatment plans aimed at improving mobility, reducing pain, and restoring physical function. This role requires a compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Assessment: Evaluate patients’ physical abilities through functional movement assessments, strength testing, and pain evaluations. Identify patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Treatment Planning: Design and implement customized treatment programs that may include therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, mobility training, and use of equipment to improve patient outcomes.
  • Therapeutic Interventions: Administer therapeutic techniques such as manual manipulation, therapeutic exercise, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and other modalities to help patients restore function and reduce pain.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about physical therapy treatments, home exercise programs, injury prevention, and strategies for improving mobility and maintaining progress.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track and document patient progress throughout treatment, adjusting care plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes. Maintain accurate and timely patient records using an electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Collaboration: Work with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive patient care and effective treatment plans.
  • Injury Prevention: Provide patients with injury prevention education, including stretching and strengthening exercises, body mechanics, and ergonomics.
  • Rehabilitation Goals: Set realistic, measurable goals for each patient and guide them through the recovery process. Regularly evaluate treatment efficacy and modify plans to ensure continued progress.
  • Discharge Planning: Collaborate with the patient and their care team to develop discharge plans, including recommendations for continued therapy, at-home care, and future treatments if needed.
  • Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines, as well as ethical standards in the practice of physical therapy. Ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Licensure: Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
  • Certification: CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in a physical therapy setting preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Skills: Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning, and manual therapy. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Technology: Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems for patient documentation.
