Project Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as Project Engineer on large construction projects.
  • Monitor scheduled progress of all construction activities and phases of construction.
  • Participates in all phases of the contract modification process.
  • Review contractor plans and technical submittals, including progress schedules, environmental, safety and quality control programs, certifications, and shop drawings.
  • Participates and executes RFI and Submittal reviews, including coordination with the designers, RE, and technical experts and executes responses to the contractor.
  • Assist in review of contractors’ requests arising from disputes and claims and makes recommendations for resolution.
  • Prepares both partial and final payment estimates including the measurement and computation of pay item quantities, verification of materials on hand, and percentage complete of lump sum items.
  • Recommend changes to plans or specifications to construction plans where needed – deficiencies, differing site conditions, user requests - and provide “lessons learned” comments to designers.
  • Participate in contract modification process - prepare scopes of work for RFP's, assist in preparation of government estimates, and review contractor's proposals.
  • Develop Quality Assurance Plans for projects and ensure that QA Plans are implemented in accordance with regulations.
  • Make periodic checks of contractor's work for overall compliance with Plans, Specifications, and other contract and construction requirements.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • 5+ years of experience in Project Engineering
  • Experience in construction engineering
