Senior Medical Device Technician

Another exciting opportunity to join a well-capitalized start up medical device company advancing hand-held, image guided, robotic technology to democratize vascular access in Central Venous Catheterization.  We are seeking an experienced Senior Medical Device Technician with a strong background in medical device and robotics technology. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of installing, maintaining, and repairing complex medical devices and robotic systems. This senior-level role requires excellent technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead and train junior technicians.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Technical Expertise:

  • Install, configure, and maintain medical devices and robotic systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex technical issues
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of devices


Leadership and Training:

  • Lead and mentor junior technicians
  • Develop and conduct training programs for technical staff
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues


Quality and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure device reliability and performance


Project Management:

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to plan and execute device installations and upgrades


Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of device maintenance, repairs, and testing
  • Generate technical reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders


EDUCATION:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering technology or related discipline


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in medical device and robotics technology
  • Strong background in installing, maintaining, and repairing complex medical devices and robotic systems
  • Excellent technical problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
  • Effective communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks


PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:  

Medical robotic systems (Mako, Da Vinci, etc.)

Medical device software and programming

Electronics debugging and rework

Quality management systems, such as ISO 13485

Manufacturing experience
