Key Responsibilities:


  • Ensure effective collaboration between Production Supervisors and unionized employees, fostering positive and productive working relationships.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and the Plant Manager to resolve employee grievances.
  • Oversee the facility's activities to ensure customer orders are processed efficiently and cost-effectively while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
  • Monitor plant operations and key metrics to uphold and enhance quality and safety standards.
  • Understand and implement the requirements of SQF 2000 Level 3 regulations for food safety and quality, promoting continuous improvement and maintaining certification.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in plant operations within the food industry.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a similar setting.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Experience with union relations, safety protocols, and workers' compensation is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership in Safety/Security Policies and Procedures.
  • Ability to adhere to and enforce Sanitation and Quality Policies and Procedures, addressing deficiencies as needed.
  • Experience or certification in HACCP, SQA is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement (CI) Processes within a Management Operating Structure (MOS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, and other analytical tools.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving organizational and operational demands, and to lead teams through change.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective team player and leader with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions and disciplines.
  • Capability to select, coach, develop, engage, and retain a talented team.
