Terms of Employment
- W2 Contract-to-Permanent, 6 Months
- This position is 100% onsite in Elkridge, MD. This is a typical Monday - Friday, 1st shift position. There may be overtime required as needed.

The organization offers electro-mechanical design and manufacturing capabilities including design validation, fabrication, assembly, testing, and commissioning of highly complex industrial control systems of the highest quality for applications where failure is not an option.
Roles & Responsibilities and Job Requirements
- Working in a 7,000sq foot manufacturing facility, the Control Panel Technician will be responsible for the following:Assemble and wire control panels in accordance with the UL 508A standard.
- Provide feedback to Manufacturing and Engineering regarding the adequacy of selected components and hardware for the assembly process to improve manufacturability.
- Perform manufacturing operations on assemblies or subassemblies and/or electro-mechanical assemblies used in devices of moderate to difficult complexity.
- Track and manage incoming and outgoing shipments and report them to the supervisor.
- Track inventory of components and notify manager to re-order when levels are low.
- Perform troubleshooting and final testing of electrical control equipment including but not limited to PLC’s, RTU’s, HMI’s and relays.
- Work under limited supervision using one or more of the following: drawings, schematics, visual aids, verbal, and written instructions to manufacture subassemblies or final assemblies, and/or electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Follow good manufacturing practices (GMP) and safety procedures.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools to build and assembly control panels.
Required Skills & Experience
High School Diploma or GED and 3+ years of experience assembling and wiring control panels.
- Experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics/circuit diagrams.
- Skilled using hand tools and power tools.
- Experience in electrical troubleshooting (PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, relays, and/or circuits, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to use Microsoft Office to make spreadsheets, inspection documents, and reports.
- Able to manage time effectively to meet tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- Able to adapt to changing needs of the company over time.
- Able to lift 40 lbs. from the floor to waist height.
- Preferred Skills & ExperienceAssociates degree in a technical trade.
- Knowledgeable of the UL 508A technical standards for industrial control panels.
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication.
- Knowledgeable of automation systems.
- Experience in PLC programming.
- Experience in HMI programming.
- Experience in materials procurement and/or logistics.
- UL508A Certification.
- OSHA 10-Hour card holder.
