Senior Construction Manager

RK Centers is seeking a retail-focused Construction professional to be based in its office in Needham, MA, to oversee construction projects for its New England shopping center portfolio.


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, implement, and manage projects to include (i) developing/reviewing budgets, (ii) qualifying and selecting architects, engineers, and contractors, and (iii) managing construction bid processes.
  • Review, approve, and oversee Company and Tenant construction projects
  • Manage entitlement/permitting process of certain Company projects.
  • Develop qualitative and pro forma analyses and prepare budgets for construction projects.
  • Prepare construction reports for ongoing projects, including schedule, cost, and scope compliance.
  • Interact with the leasing team and retailers to optimize the overall processes at Company shopping centers.
  • Assist in due diligence (architectural, engineering, environmental) for acquisitions.
  • Assist the property management team in providing best-in-class operations throughout the portfolio.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering or other relevant job experience is preferred.
  • Requisite experience in project management, construction oversight, or civil engineering.
  • Familiarity with suburban commercial retail real estate and track record of projects in retail space.
  • Leadership and management abilities commensurate with the position.
  • Emphasis on teamwork and ability to work effectively within small groups.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel preferred.
  • Self-motivated problem-solver, with the ability to build strong business relationships.
