Role Description

You will be joining a collaborative team and will help execute purchasing responsibilities from industry leading wire, cable, and connectivity manufacturers. Core tasks will include writing purchase orders, tracking quality concerns, developing forecasts and automating processes.

Essential Duties:

Purchasing

  • Enters and maintains all purchase orders in our ERP system
  • Negotiates price and delivery of items purchased
  • Delivers delivery schedule for the Sales Department
  • Expedites orders
  • Inventory turns management and improvement

Supply Chain

  • Optimizes our ERP system to drive improved fill-rate
  • Explores automation and digitization options for supply chain
  • Develops actions to improve processes, reporting, and procedures

Vendor Management

  • Assists finding, developing, and approving new suppliers
  • Quarterly reviews of vendor performance
  • Collaboratively forecasts to align demand planning

Competencies:

  • Excel proficiency
  • Work closely with the sales department to meet timely delivery of raw materials/components at the lowest cost possible.
  • Have the ability to negotiate with manufactures’ sales staff for best price, shipping, terms, and rebates.
  • Build trust, value others, communicate effectively, drive execution, foster innovation, focus on the customer, collaborate with others, solve problems creatively and demonstrate high integrity
  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values.

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business or related field
  • No prior related work experience required
  • Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain processes
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Previous experience in the wire and cable industry is a plus
