Production Control Specialist

ADVICS Manufacturing Ohio, Inc. is a leading OEM automotive supplier located in Lebanon, Ohio (just North of Cincinnati). We manufacture the highest quality and most competitive disc brake calipers and ESC brake system components in the world. By utilizing the Just-In-Time production model we are able to identify and solve problems efficiently at virtually every step of the manufacturing process. ADVICS meets challenges before they arise allowing us to produce "world class" quality calipers and antilock braking systems.
We currently have a need to fill a Production Control Specialist position in our Production Control department. This position is fulltime Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
Provides support in meeting customer demands by reviewing and scheduling production and
supplier capacity. Creates and monitors component vendor delivery schedules along with
managing inventory accuracy. Oversees the complete Procurement process for designated
components, beginning at the Logistics step through Receiving to the Inventory stage.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties
may be assigned:
- Analyzes internal and supplier capacities.
- Interprets Material Resource Planning reports.
- Produces delivery schedules based on Material Resource Planning.
- Interfaces with external and internal customers and suppliers.
- Prepares and analyzes a variety of personal computer and mainframe generated
- Assists with maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Monitors inventory levels to meet departmental goals.
- Monitors vendor performance.
- Expedites orders as needed.
- Serves as vendor interface.
- Resolves system interface problems between suppliers and Advics at the point of
- Actively participates in continuous improvement and 5S activities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional
journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulation. Ability to write reports,
business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present
information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers,
and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions,
proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts
of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in
situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of
instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
APICS (American Production & Inventory Control Society) certification preferred.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Previous experience in automotive manufacturing and a multi-cultural global
- environment preferred.
- Knowledge of, and experience working with, computerized operations including
- MRP systems , BPCS and Future 3 is preferred.
- Highly proficient in Excel.
- Understanding and exposure to Just In Time and/or TPS principles
- Must be able to function in a team environment by working with, and cooperating
- with others.
- Must be able to clearly communicate in both written and oral forms with others.
- Should be pro-actively involved in the improvement process, and promote its use
- within the area.
