About the role:

As the Director of Lean, you will report directly to the company president and take full ownership of all Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives, including those outside of traditional operations. Your role will be both strategic and hands-on, driving Lean transformation across the organization and developing a best-in-class New Product Development (NPD) process. You'll ensure a standardized, tollgate-based approach, guiding products from customer engagement through production.


The location: Headquartered in Camden, Delaware


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead operational excellence initiatives, continuously advancing Lean practices across the organization
  • Improve key performance areas such as safety, quality, delivery, and cost, while maintaining a focus on driving financial results
  • Collaborate closely with the executive leadership team to execute both short-term and long-term growth strategies
  • Enhance the New Product Development (NPD) process, increasing efficiency, consistency, and speed in product launches
  • Lead Value Stream Mapping & Kaizen events, deploying lean tools as necessary, and achieving break-thru results


Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience leading Lean initiatives and delivering operational breakthroughs
  • Proven expertise in managing and improving the New Product Development (NPD) process, including strong project management skills
  • Deep familiarity with Lean manufacturing tools like Kaizen, Kanban, TPM, and others, with a hands-on approach to achieving measurable results
  • A collaborative leader with the ability to engage and influence cross-functional teams
