Pave Talent, in collaboration with a high-impact, established waste management company, seeks a passionate and talented Environmental Compliance Specialist. This role offers a unique opportunity to be a key player in advancing environmental sustainability and ensuring regulatory compliance in waste management processes.
Our client, a notable waste management and recycling company based in Mobile, AL, specializes in comprehensive waste solutions, including RCRA hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste management, and various recycling services. They have been a vital part of the industry since 2001, extending their services across 29 US states and internationally, with a strong commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
🔍 Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee transportation and disposal projects, ensuring they meet budget, time, and scope requirements.
- Characterize waste streams following federal and state guidelines and determine cost-effective treatment technologies.
- Engage in customer education regarding waste disposal processes and maintain strong client relationships.
- Conduct site evaluations and prepare cost estimates and proposals for new projects.
- Ensure all projects adhere to environmental regulations and company standards for safety and quality.
📚 Candidate Profile:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor of Science in Biology, Environmental Science, or Chemistry is preferred. Relevant industry experience is a plus.
- Professional Experience: Experience with hazardous waste management and familiarity with federal and state environmental regulations.
- Personal Attributes: Strong analytical skills, ability to work in a team, and excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of federal USEPA (RCRA) and USDOT (United States Department of Transportation) regulations pertaining to waste management and the ability to find and disseminate state environmental regulations
- Additional Requirements: CHMM certification preferred and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
