Organic Chemist

About the Role:

A Chemtek is seeking a self-motivated candidate with good work ethic to join our organic chemistry lab as a chemist. As an entry level chemist, you will work directly under senior staff to assist in the synthesis of organic chemical compounds and to assist with lab maintenance and procedures. Responsibilities

• Documents work and maintains good laboratory records in notebooks and on controlled documentation (good documentation practices).
• Work independently under minimal supervision to create a work plan for the synthesis of compounds.
• Must be able to document complex solutions and offer suggestions on improving processes.
• Performs analysis of samples following prescribed procedures, with the ability to solve problems that may arise.
• Assists with primary data review as needed.
• Responsible for proper management of waste generated as a result of analytical procedures.
• Performing other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• MS degree in Chemistry or related field with 5+ years lab and synthesis related work experience
• Strong familiarity with chemical synthesis equipment such as HPLC, LC-MS etc.
• Detail oriented, organized and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to write correspondence and reports.
• Proactive and open attitude to learn on the job.
• Excellent organizational skills.
