Senior Construction Project Manager

Key member of small in-house new store development and construction team, Senior Construction Project Manager is directly responsible for managing architects, general contractors and others to build and open new stores on time and budget in support of the company’s business plan. He/she must have proven project management experience in the retail store construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with merchandising and senior management on new store design.
  • Participate in the design and pre-development phase of construction projects
  • Assist with managing all aspects of design and construction.
  • Work with external architects to develop plans and blueprints. Review blueprints and drawings for all assigned projects, including providing comments and take-offs. Provide comments oriented towards value engineering, construction feasibility, completeness using gained industry knowledge and experience.
  • Provide qualified bids for general contractors for approval.
  • Hire and manage local expeditors as needed.
  • Hire and work with general contractor to complete building on time and budget.
  • Request estimates and manage the bid process to ensure successful closeout, including assisting to write scopes of works and pricing sheets for MEP components
  • Build and maintain relationships with consultants, architects, and contractors, etc.
  • Inspect projects to identify and rectify defects or deviations from project requirements.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a construction-related field
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience working in design and/or construction
  • Willingness to work from office and field locations, as needed
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
  • Background in general construction and proven project management skills
  • Proactive attitude when tackling issues that arise
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities; contributes to building a positive team spirit; puts success of team above own interests
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Follows instructions and responds to management direction; commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.
  • Products and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills


We will invest the necessary time to set up the Senior Construction Project Manager for long-term success at BTG. Actual plan will be customized to the individual, but will include time to learn the business in our showroom and to develop the important internal relationship and trust needed to successfully grow into this leadership role.
