Electrical Design Engineer – New Product and Sustaining Engineering

Are you a seasoned Electrical Design Engineer with a passion for both innovation and continuous improvement? Join our team as an Electrical Design Engineer, where you'll play a critical role in both New Product Development (NPD) and Sustaining Engineering. Your expertise will drive the design of cutting-edge control systems, enhance existing products, and ensure that our industry-leading machinery continues to set the standard.

Who We Are

Since 1953, Park Industries has been a leader in stoneworking machinery manufacturing across North America. Based in Saint Cloud, Minnesota, we're a family-owned company known for our commitment to quality and innovation. As the largest American manufacturer in our industry, we pride ourselves on our state-of-the-art facilities, exceptional customer service, and ongoing support throughout the product lifecycle.

What You'll Do

As an Electrical Design Engineer at Park Industries, you will:

  • System Design: Lead the design of electrical systems from initial conceptualization through to commissioning, ensuring they meet all project requirements and industry standards.
  • Control Systems Development: Independently design controls and software systems, including creating specifications, architecture, and user interfaces for new products and enhancements to existing ones.
  • Sustaining Engineering: Identify and implement improvements to existing products, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical design, and ensure that our products continue to meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Actively participate in both NPD and sustaining engineering projects, working closely with teams across Manufacturing, Sales, Service, Installation, and Training to ensure successful project delivery and product sustainment.
  • Documentation: Communicate the need for service documentation, such as schematics and CAD drawings, to the design team, ensuring all designs are thoroughly documented.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement initiatives, providing technical guidance and support to the team in both new and existing product development.

In this role, you'll work standard business hours from Monday to Friday, with a hybrid work arrangement that combines remote work flexibility with onsite collaboration at our St. Cloud, MN office.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design engineering, with a focus on control systems and software development. Experience with Computer Numeric Controllers (CNCs) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., C#, C++, Java, VBA, VB6, or Python), familiarity with ladder logic and structured text, and experience with IDEs such as Visual Studio, TIA Portal, and Step 7. Knowledge of Agile methodologies, unit and integration testing, and conducting code reviews is essential.
