Vice President of Engineering

My client, based in Boston, is looking for a VP of Engineering to strategically grow and guide the business to the next level and beyond. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing top-end technical processes, engineering management, and scaling SaaS engineering teams. You will lead and inspire a talented team of engineers, driving innovation, efficiency, and excellence in product development.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive top-end technical processes and best practices across all engineering functions, with a focus on AWS infrastructure, Python, React, building and development of web/SaaS applications, with all sides of full-stack engineering leadership being a prominent aspect of the role.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop top engineering talent, fostering a diverse and inclusive team environment that encourages growth and learning.
  • Collaborate closely with product management, design, and other stakeholders to align engineering efforts with business goals and customer needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies for scaling engineering operations, including process improvements, automation, and technology investments.
  • Identify and mitigate technical and operational risks, ensuring the stability, security, and reliability of our SaaS platform.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, fostering experimentation, feedback, and learning across the engineering organization.

Technical Requirements:

  • 8+ years experience within the software engineering field, with at least 3+ years in a leadership position.
  • Expertise with Full-Stack engineering processes - both front-end and back-end.
  • Expertise with AWS Cloud environments.

This role is based in the Greater Boston Area - 2 days onsite per week.
