Position Overview:

We’re hiring Per Diem Security Operations Team Members to provide physical security support across a variety of settings in central Maine. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring safety and order, whether it’s guiding parking logistics, monitoring premises, handling access control, or assisting in crowd management. This role also includes supporting VIP services and managing security for both routine and high-profile activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Access and Entry Control:
  • Verify identification and credentials at access points.
  • Oversee restricted areas to ensure only authorized personnel enter.
  • Monitor and manage guest lists for special events or VIP access.
  • Security Screening:
  • Conduct bag checks and personal searches with discretion and professionalism.
  • Operate metal detectors, handheld wands, and other screening tools.
  • Monitor for prohibited or unsafe items and manage any discoveries appropriately.
  • Parking and Traffic Flow:
  • Direct traffic to designated areas to maximize space and reduce congestion.
  • Maintain order in parking lots, including preventing unauthorized parking.
  • Patrols and Incident Monitoring:
  • Perform regular patrols to identify and address potential security risks.
  • Observe for suspicious activity and respond proactively to ensure safety.
  • Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized or unsafe behaviors.
  • VIP and Client Support:
  • Provide tailored assistance to VIP guests, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Escort VIPs and maintain secure areas for private activities or gatherings.
  • Crowd Management and Safety:
  • Monitor crowd behavior to anticipate and prevent disturbances.
  • Implement control measures to manage large groups effectively.
  • Respond to and de-escalate conflicts or other issues in a calm, professional manner.
  • Emergency Response:
  • Act as a first responder in case of emergencies, including medical situations or evacuations.
  • Coordinate with first responders and follow established protocols to ensure swift and effective resolution.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Accurately document incidents, activities, and any unusual occurrences.
  • Communicate clearly with team members, venue staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Customer Service:
  • Serve as a resource for attendees or employees, offering directions and assistance.
  • Represent Gnomeguard Group in a professional and approachable manner.


Additional Services Supported:

  • Escorting employees or valuables during opening or closing hours.
  • Monitoring security cameras and alarm systems for real-time threat assessment.
  • Assisting with loss prevention in retail or business environments.
  • Providing perimeter security for construction sites, offices, or sensitive facilities.


Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • Prior military, law enforcement, or security experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience in customer service or a public-facing role is beneficial.
  • Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong observational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal communication and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to stay calm and think critically in high-pressure situations.
  • Physically able to perform duties such as standing, walking, and lifting when necessary.
  • Availability:
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Certifications:
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certification is a plus (training opportunities may be available).
