We are seeking a Paralegal with a minimum of 3 years of claimant Workers’ Compensation experience in the state of Georgia. The ideal candidate will hold a Paralegal Certificate and have a deep understanding of Georgia Workers’ Compensation laws and procedures. The Paralegal will provide support to attorneys by managing cases, conducting legal research, preparing documents, and communicating with clients, medical providers, and other parties involved in Workers’ Compensation claims.


Key Responsibilities:


Case Management:

  • Assist attorneys with all aspects of Workers’ Compensation cases, from initial intake through settlement or trial.
  • Maintain organized case files, ensuring all documents, correspondence, and evidence are properly managed and up-to-date.
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure timely filing of documents with the Workers’ Compensation Board.

Document Preparation:

  • Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, subpoenas, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare and organize exhibits for hearings and trials.
  • Assist in the preparation of discovery responses and document production.

Client Communication:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for claimants, providing regular updates on case status and answering any questions they may have.
  • Gather and review medical records, employment records, and other relevant documentation from clients.
  • Coordinate with medical providers, insurance companies, and other third parties to obtain necessary information and documentation.

Trial Preparation:

  • Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings and trials, including organizing evidence, witness lists, and exhibits.
  • Coordinate with witnesses, experts, and other parties to ensure their availability and readiness for hearings or trials.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, and trials as needed to provide support to attorneys.


Qualifications:

  • Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in claimant Workers’ Compensation cases in Georgia.
  • Strong knowledge of Georgia Workers’ Compensation laws, procedures, and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in legal research and legal document preparation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
