Overview:

As a Scheduler, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing project schedules for construction projects. Your role will involve collaborating with project managers, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to create detailed schedules that optimize resources, minimize delays, and ensure timely completion of construction activities. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in project management software are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  1. Schedule Development:
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop comprehensive project schedules, including milestone dates, work breakdown structures, and critical path analysis.
  • Utilize project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) to create detailed schedules that account for sequencing, dependencies, and resource allocation.
  • Incorporate input from engineers, architects, and other team members to ensure accuracy and feasibility of schedule milestones and deliverables.
  1. Schedule Management:
  • Monitor and update project schedules regularly to reflect actual progress, changes in scope, and emerging risks or issues.
  • Identify potential schedule conflicts, bottlenecks, or resource constraints and propose mitigation strategies to maintain project timelines.
  • Communicate schedule updates, deviations, and impact assessments to project stakeholders in a timely manner.
  1. Resource Allocation:
  • Coordinate with project managers and resource managers to allocate labor, equipment, and materials efficiently based on project schedules and requirements.
  • Anticipate resource needs and constraints to prevent schedule disruptions and optimize resource utilization throughout the construction process.
  1. Risk Management:
  • Identify and assess potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project schedules, such as weather delays, material shortages, or regulatory approvals.
  • Develop contingency plans and mitigation strategies to address schedule risks proactively and minimize their impact on project timelines.
  1. Progress Tracking and Reporting:
  • Track daily progress and productivity of construction activities, comparing actual performance against planned schedules and milestones.
  • Generate progress reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to provide project stakeholders with insights into schedule performance, trends, and variances.
  • Conduct regular project status meetings to review schedule updates, discuss issues, and solicit input from team members.



Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in construction scheduling or project controls role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and scheduling techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess schedule impacts and propose effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented approach and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
