Description:

The Cigna Benefit Educator plays a crucial role in our business by representing Cigna at various enrollment events and providing exceptional education about our products and services. This role involves presenting Cigna’s benefits, conducting Q&A sessions, and participating in benefit and health fairs. The primary objective is to create a highly satisfying and positive experience for customers through professionalism and knowledge.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct world-class enrollment events and educate customers about Cigna's products, services, and programs.
  • Deliver presentations and engage in Q&A sessions to inform and assist customers.
  • Represent Cigna at benefit fairs, health fairs, and other related events.
  • Provide a positive customer experience with knowledge and professionalism.
  • Troubleshoot enrollment and benefit questions or concerns.
  • Travel within the geographic market to cover events as needed.
  • Handle travel expenses (car rental, air, hotel) with reimbursement provided.
  • Maintain an active Life and Health Insurance License.

Requirements:

  • Must have and maintain an active Life and Health Insurance License.
  • Experience in explaining and presenting employer-sponsored benefits.
  • Familiarity with Supplemental Health Products (Accidental Injury, Critical Illness, Hospital Care).
  • Ability to work on an “as-needed” basis, including during peak season (August-December).
  • Comfort with speaking to large groups and individuals one-on-one.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the designated geographic area.
  • Access to email, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and a cell phone.
  • Knowledge of local market nuances, including providers, networks, and competitors (preferred).
  • Bilingual capabilities (preferred).
  • Strong presentation and PowerPoint skills (virtual or in-person).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Strong organizational skills and tech-savviness (Webex, Zoom, Skype, and other applications).
  • Knowledge of employee benefits, including group (employer-sponsored) health, dental, pharmacy, vision, and supplemental health insurance.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Certifications & Licenses:

  • HIPAA Certification
  • Health and Life Insurance License

Notes:

  • Position has no guaranteed hours and is on an as-needed basis.
  • Must live local to the geographic area and have reliable transportation.
